St Gabriels u15's had a great win over Kilconly today in Menlough in the u15 North Board League Final. Final score St Gabriels 10pts to Kilconly 9pts. St Gabriels trailed for all of the game and try as they might they couldn't put the scores on the board with the half time score st gabriels 2pts to kilconly 6pts with Shane Regan kicking a great point from a free in the first half. In the second half Kilconly upped their performance and went 5pts ahead and looked the better team. With a never die attitude St Gabriels brought the game back to level scores of 8pts each and Kilconly went ahead again by a point. Once again Jarlath Mannion kicked a lovely point to level the match. In what was a very exciting final 5 minutes St Gabriels Pakie Garvey kicked the winning point over the bar to give these great bunch of lads a fantastic win. P.J. Rabbitte of coiste peil na nog complimented both teams on a great game and congratulated managers and mentors on their hard work with the teams and congratulated st gabriels on all the trophies they have won at underage this season this being their sixth trophy. Larry Lohan p.r.o. of coiste peil na nog presented the winning trophy to declan cronin captain of st gabriels u15 team. Declan thanked everyone for their help and commiserated with Kilconly. Bonfires welcomed back this great group of players to the parish of aughrim kilconnell cappatagle and kilrickle. U15 MATCH SUMMARIES
St gabriels u15 ‘s recently played Annaghdown in Annaghdown and won on that morning. St gabriels u15’s then had a drawn match with Ballinasloe in Ballinasloe each team scoring 2g 9pts. Jarlath Mannion having a particularly great day out scoring 2g 7pts on the day. They then played Caltra in Kilconnell the following week and were the better
team by far.
ST GABRIELS U15’s went on to play Kilconly in Kilconnell pitch on Wednesday last St Gabriels and Kilconly played a great game of football in wet conditions. Kilconly seemed to get the upper hand in the first half but st gabriels picked of some lovely points and the half time score was st gabriels 4pts to kilconly's 5pts. St Gabriels went 5 pts
up in the second half only to have a very determined Kilconly team level the game in the last few minutes with the final score ending St Gabriels 1g 11pts to Kilconly 1g 11pts. St Gabriels u13 team met Mountbellew /Moylough in the u13 league quarter final in Kilconnell pitch on tuesday 11th of october at 7p.m. in very wet conditions St Gabriels played a great game of football and were 2gs 2pts to Mountbellew/Moylough's 1g and 2pts up at half time with great 2 great goals from Danny Reddan and a point from Ryan Malone in the first half. St Gabriels upped their game in the second half and were outright winners on a scoreline of St Gabriels 5g 6pts to Mountbellew/Moylough 1g 4pts. Great game in such atrocious conditions. Terrfic performances from goalie through to the number 19. Well done lads. St Gabriels u13's play Glenamaddy next in the u13 semi-final. Best of luck in that game.

It was a very breezy afternoon when st gabriels u13's captained by cathal riddle, were up against corofin in monivea on saturday 24th of september. It was a tough match throughout with corofin taking the lead straight away with a quick goal followed up by a point. St Gabriels got right into the game and were leading by 2 points at half time. It was still all to play for and scores were tit for tat throughout the second half. When the final whistle blew gabriels had won by 1 point. This was an excellent game of football from both sides with daniel reddan for st gabriels scoring 3 goals and shane grenham scoring 1 goal. Well done lads on a great victory and for your commitment to training. Congratulations to mike malone and his mentors on this great win to add to their tally. UNDER 13's BREEZE INTO COUNTY LEAGUE FINAL
St Gabriels u13 team have booked a place in the under 13 league final after some great displays on the road firstly defeating craughwell away in craughwell three weeks ago, then they met caherlistrane also an away game in caherlistrane a week later and won that game well. St Gabriels u13 team then had a terrific win when defeating tuam stars at home in kilconnell on friday 9th of september on a scoreline of st gabriels 4g & 9pts to tuam stars 1g & 6pts. St Gabriels u13 team then turned their attention to claregalway in kilconnell on sunday 11th of september and won on a scoreline of st gabriels 5g & 6pts to claregawlays 4pts. Well done to all concerned and best of luck in the final when they play corofin next week. Which promises to be a great game.

St Gabriels u14’s played the div 2a county league final on Friday last against carna caiseal no piarsaighin pearse stadium. This same team had won the div 2A county final the previous Friday evening also in pearse stadium. St Gabriels were the better team from the start of the match. With some great defending and some great scores taken the half time score was St Gabriels 4g 3pts to Carna 1pt. St Gabriels continued their great defensive work in the second half and as the game progressed every one on the panel of 29 got a game in pearses, a great week for this bunch of players. At the end of a terrific performance the final score was St Gabriels 4g 8pts to Carna 1g 5pts. Well done to carna caiseal na piarsaigh for a very sporting game. Afterwards Michael O'Rourke (captain) was presented the plaque by Tadhg Connelly chairman of coiste peil nog. St Gabriels boys travelled home once again to blazing bonfires and a party in St Gabriels new sports centre. U14's STYLISH COMEBACK TALK OF THE TOWN!!!
St Gabriels u14 team won the u14b championship title on Friday evening 26th of august in pearse stadium after a great game of football. St Gabriels played Oughterard in the final in front of a large crowd of st gabriels supporters. Oughterard started the better team and went 2g and 2pts up to no reply from st gabriels. David Malone opened st gabriels account with a great goal and danny reddan scored two points only to have oughterard reply with 2g and 2pts leaving st gabriels 11 points behind. Michalel O'Rourke went on a great run and scored a great goal and d malone and a dunne popped two more points over leaving the half time score more respectable at st gabriels 3g 3pts to oughterard 4g 4pts. In the second half st gabriels upped their game and gave a great display of football the teams were level at one stage at 5g and 4pts each with a great battle to the end with st gabriels taking the lead by 8 points and oughterard coming back to a three point deficit and st gabriels going on to win on a scoreline of st gabriels 7g 3pts to oughterard 6g 3pts. Amid great scenes of joy St Gabriels team captain Aidan Grenham was presented with the cup by larry lohan p.r.o. of coiste peil nog. Darren Kenny got the man of the match award and that was presented to him by Taghd Connelly chairman of coiste peil nog. U14's INTO PEARSE STADIUM FINAL
St Gabriels played Caltra in Mountbellew on friday 20th of august in the semi final of the u14 championship. St Gabriels u14 team met Caltra for the third time this year in u14 football games. St Gabriels had won on the other occasions. St Gabriels and Caltra served up a very entertaining game with each side giving their best for this match. With Caltra starting the stronger team and getting a point in the first few minutes. Aaron Dunne got a great goal with Caltra replying with three points putting Gabriels under great pressure. St Gabriels upped their game and Darragh Kenny got a great goal followed by a goal and a point from Danny Reddan leaving the half time score St Gabriels 3g 1pt to Caltras 4pts. Caltra started the second half really strong and scored a point with Danny Reddan scoring one for St Gabriels, Caltra then put our backs under great pressure and scored a goal leaving a margin of one point between the teams St Gabriels played great football and try as they might couldn't register the scores on the board. Aidan Grenham got another great point to see them into the final as the game ended with the full time score St Gabriels 3g 3pts to caltra 1g 7pts. JUNIORS POWER INTO SEMI'S
On Wednesday 17th of june in mountbellew pitch St Gabriels junior C team played Dunmore McHales in the junior championship in the first round. St Gabriels started the better team with Christopher Donnellan hitting the cross bar and having a few wides and putting great pressure on Dunmore but Dunmore upped their game and were 4 points up unanswered much to our dismay. Sean Whyte opened St Gabriels account with a great point from play with Christopher Donnellan adding two to our tally and Ronan Doohan levelling the teams just before half time with four points each. In the second half St Gabriels upped their game and gave a great display of football scoring another four points a total of eight unanswered points by Dunmore. Dunmore put the backs under great pressure but great credit to Gabriels as Dunmore only scored two points in the second half. With a great passage of play from the backs to Dylan Murray and a great finish by Ronan Doohan scoring a goal St Gabriels won on a scoreline of St Gabriels 1g 10pts to Dunmore 6pts. St Gabriels Junior C team played mountbellew/moylough in kilconnell pitch at 7p.m. on tuesday 2nd of august in a league game. In front of a large crowd st gabriels went two point up to no score and it took until after fifteen minutes before mountbellew scored their first point. The game ebbed and flowed in the first half with st gabriels 9pts to mountbellews 4pts. In the second half st gabriels upped their game and with a great team performance they won on a deserved scoreline of st gabriels 17pts to mountbellew/moylough 7pts with man of the match award going to Mike Coen. U16'S BRAVE EFFORT IN NORTH C SHIELD FINAL
Kilkerrin/Clonberne 2g 9pts to St Gabriels 2g 6pts
Kilkerrin overcame a gallant ST GABRIELS team in the shield final played in MOUNTBELLEW on Monday 25th july 2011. Kilkerrin/Clonberne got off to a good start and lead by 3 points after 10 minutes at this stage with the breeze behind them St Gabriels played some great football and helped a great goal by Jarlath Mannion St Gabriels lead at half time by 1g 6pts to 3pts. In the second half with the breeze Clonberne began to eat into St Gariels lead and midway through the second half the sides were level. From there to the end of the match it was anybody's game but the strong finish by Clonberne meant they were the winners. Referee was gerry daly. Afterwards Noel Finnegan from coiste peil na og presented the shield to the Kilkerrin/Clonberne captain. Hard luck lads but well done on reaching a final. St Gabriels met Ballinasloe in Ballinasloe on Friday 22nd july at 7p.m. The game started off with each team getting some great scores with St Gabriels scoring some great points and two great goals one by Aaron Dunne and Aidan Grenham giving St Gabriels a good lead. St Gabriels were then awarded a penalty which they got a point from but Ballinasloe fought back and with the backs and goalie standing firm the half time score was St Gabriels 2g & 8pts to Ballinasloe 2g & 3pts. In the second half St Gabriels were the better team with the competition in the game being over at an early stage. St Gabriels boys gave a great powerful display with great scores and play from each player on the field an excellent team performance. St Gabriels and St Kerills u16 team met to decide who would play Kilkerrin/Clonberne in the shield final. On a lovely fine evening for football they served up a great game of football. St Gabriels had the better of the early exchanges and with Michael Lestrange and Sean Collins solid at the back they built up a big half time lead. In the second half St Kerills fought back and twenty minutes into the second half they drew level with Ronan Bellew being their star performer. From there on St Gabriels played good footall to win the match. Referee was Martin Flaherty. Well done lads you have earned yourselves a place in the shield final to be played next week. ST GABRIELS MINOR REPORT
Gabriels Minors team played Killererin in Clonberne on wednesday 20th of july. St Gabriels started well with a great point from sean cronin, Killererin responded and scored some great points and then christopher donnellan made an excellent response of his own and scored a goal from a free. Killererin had the advantage of a strong breeze and made good use of it scoring 2g 7pts to st gabriels 1g 2pts by half time. In the second half St Gabriels were unlucky not to score a goal in the opening minutes of the half while Killererin added to their tally with three points. St Gabriels upped their game and christopher donnellan scored another good goal and a point with David Glennon kicking a great point from a free, this coupled with fantastic goal from sean cronin brought Gabriels back to within four points of Killererin. Killererin were the better team on the day and won on a scoreline of st gabriels 2g 12pts to killererin 3g 4pts. Well done to Eannai Garvey and Sean Cronin who both gave inspiring performances and the rest of the team. U14's VERSUS WILLIAMSTOWN SUMMARY
St Gabriels u14's played their second league match in kilconnell pitch on Friday 8th april. They welcomed visitors Willliamstown to their home ground. St Gabriels started the better team and with a hat trick of goals from Darren Kenny St Gabriels were well on their way. Williamstown gave a good display but were not able to put the scores on the board. St Gabriels played very well and ran out outright winners. After St Gabriels being beaten in their first league match by Kilconly away in Kilconly last week this was a great display by the U14 team. St Gabriels junior A team played Cortoon Shamrocks in the first league game in kilconnell pitch on Saturday 24th of march. A great first half ensued with both teams level at half time St Gabriels Pierce Dillion took a penalty awarded to St Gabriels and Barry Shea got a great goal. Half time score St Gabriels 2g 4pts to Cortoon Shamrocks 1g 7pts. Cortoon were the better team in the second half and scored some great points. MINORS GET GREAT START TO LEAGUE CAMPAIGN
St Gabriels minor team played St Kerills on sunday last in Gurteen in the first round of the league. A great game ensued having four penalties and plenty of excitement with both teams giving their best. St Gabriels started the better team and went 1g 1pt up to no score with Dylan Murray scoring a great goal and Christopher Donnellan scoring the point. St Kerills got two goals one from a well taken penalty and some great points. St Gabriels was awarded a penalty but this was saved by the goalie. David Glennon scored another goal and kept us in contention with St Kerills who were two points ahead at half time - St Gabriels 2g 1pt to St Kerills 2g 3pts. St Kerills came out after the second half and added three more points to their account. St Gabriels battled hard but just couldnt put the scores on the board. St Gabriels backs stood firm coming under great pressure from St Kerrills with Eanna Garvey, Aidan Mannion, Christopher Donnellan, Dylan Murray and Sean Cronin having great performances. St Gabriels were then awarded two penalties in quick succession and Liam Maguire stepped up and scored 1g and 1pt from them. Well done Liam. Shane Curtin scored the point of the match from 40 yds from the goal and Christopher Donnellan and David Glennon added to their tally and St Kerills fought back with another point but with two great points from our super sub Michael L'estrange St Gabriels won on a scoreline of St Gabriels 3g 8pts to St Kerrills 2g 8pts. MINORS SHOW PROMISE FOR SEASON
St Gabriels minor team played their first competitive game of football on thursday evening 10th of march in kilconnell pitch against Ballinasloe. St Gabriels had a great start to the match with a terrific goal from Eanna Garvey and were 1 goal and 1 point up before Ballinasloe got a goal. A good game of football entailed with both the teams playing at a fast pace with some good movement from the home side on all areas of the pitch. At half time both sides were level with 1g and 4pts each. In the second half Ballinasloe came out strong and had a good start scoring some great points but an undaunted St Gabriels side rallied and with the backs standing firm and playing the ball out quickly St Gabriels got a well deserved goal from Christopher Donnellan and with this impetus they had a great finish just finishing 1pt behind a fancied Ballinasloe side.

U21's WIN IN OPENING AWAY DAY THRILLER
St Gabriels defeated na Gleanta in the first round of the U21 championship at the weekend.
Finaal Score ST GABRIELS 3g 7pts - na Gleannta 1g 8pts. Saint Gabriels travelled to Glenamaddy to play na Gleannta on saturday 5th of february. In very wet conditions both teams scored two points in the opening few minutes with na Gleannta scoring a goal and taking the lead. St Gabriels upped their game and with two great goals in the first half they had a lead of St Gabriels 2g 5pts to na Gleannta 1g 4pts at the end of the first half. In the second half St Gabriels played some great football and scored another goal and some great points. na Gleannt fought back but with the backs standing firm in a terrific rearguard action St Gabriels finished on a scoreline of St Gabriels 3g 7pts to na Gleannta 1g 8pts. St Gabriels Under 14's played Athenry last week in their league game away in Athenry. St Gabriels came out with great spirit and Darragh Kenny opened the scoring with a lovely goal from open play. Great scoring from St Gabriels who were leading at half time by 4g & 3pts to 1g & 1pt. At the start of the second half Athenry came out fighting bringing the score to only 3 points between the two sides. Gabriels found the energy to up their game again and pull away by 6 points and the final score was St Gabriels 5g & 7pts to Athenrys 5g & 1pt. ST GABRIELS UNDER 16'S WIN BUT ITS CLOSE !!!
St Gabriels under 16's met clonbur in kilconnell pitch on tuesday 17th of may. St Gabriels had a great first half and with jarlath mannion in scoring form St Gabriels were up 7pts at half time. In the second half clonbur fought back and with an injury that resulted in two of our players going to hospital with head injuries (we wish them well daniel dunne and michael l'estrange thankfully they are fine.) Clonbur saw it as an opportunity to come back and scored 1g and 3pts in quick succession but the home side held firm and with a great finish St Gabriels went on to win by 2 pts with two great points by jarlath mannion at the end of the match and great performances right throught the field. Well done lads again and keep up the good work.

ST GABRIELS U16 team travelled to Milltown on tuesday 10th of may for their league game. A great start for St Gabriels scoring 4pts against a strong breeze. Milltown came into the game and scored three points in succession, Sean Collins scored a great goal and by half time st gabriels were 1g 6pts to Milltowns 6pts. In the second half Milltown were the first to score. Gabriels gave a great performance in football scoring some great points and with Jarlath Mannion sending a ball to the back of the net this finished the match as a competition. The final score was St Gabriels 2g 12pts to Milltown 9pts. Well done to Hubert Burke and Declan Malone for their commitment to this team and well done to the panel of players on this fine win. St Gabriel's minor team played Milltown in Kilconnell on Wednesday 4th of May in an important make or break league game. Milltown started the stronger team scoring a great point from the kick out and then scoring a great point from a forty-five. Jarlath Mannion our under sixteen player scored the first point for St Gabriel's followed by Dylan Murray. Milltown played some great football and were up 1g and 7pts to our two points but St Gabriel's played well and with great points from Johnny Creaven, Gary Lohan and Dylan Murray we were back in the game. St Gabriel's had all the play but couldn't put the scores on the board. Ronan Kelly then scored a great goal and Dylan Murray added to his tally. At half time St Gabriel's were trailing 1g 8pts to 2g 8pts. St Gabriel's had the wind at their backs in the second half and after 10 minutes into the second half with no team scoring St Gabriel's were then awarded a penalty. Captain Gary Lohan stood up to take the penalty and got a great goal, which levelled the game, Sean Cronin then came on for David Glennon and he scored three points in quick succession. Gary Lohan scored another solid point which then gave St Gabriel's a four point lead to end matters. Final Score St Gabriels 2g 12pts to Milltown 2g 8pts. ENOUGH V KILLERERIN
Gabriels met Killererin in their league game in kilconnell pitch on Tuesday 3rd of may at 7p.m. St Gabriels were the better team and had a lot of the play but Killererin were in the lead by 6pts to 2pts for a lot of the first half. Jarlath Mannion got a great goal just before half time. St Gabriels played great football in the first half but couldn't put the scores on the board. The half time score was St Gabriels 1g 2pts to Killererin 7pts. In the second half St Gabriels played good football but Killererin scored a goal and a point in quick succession, Gabriels fought back and with three great points from Pakie Garvey and a well taken penalty by Shane Regan St Gabriels were level with Killererin but then Killererin got the upper hand as St Gabriels lost their way and went on to have a good win. JUNIOR A MATCH REPORT v ANNAGHDOWN
St Gabriels junior a team played Annaghdown in a league match on saturday 30th of april in kilconnell pitch. On a lovely evening in front of a great crowd of supporters St Gabriels started the better team and played great football with an exquisite goal from Emmet Malone and some good points from Sean Whyte and Pauric Larkin St Gabriels were a point up at half time with the score at St Gabriels 1g 3pts to Annaghdowns 5pts. In the second half Annaghdown upped the anti and levelled the match. James Dillion put St Gabriels ahead again with a brillaint point. Then Kevin McDonagh scored a goal but Annaghdown quickly came back and went a point up after scoring a goal and some good points. St Gabriels gave an inspired display of football with Stephen Creaven making some great saves and our backs standing firm coming under great pressure. Mark Loughnane scored a fantastic goal and St Gabriels won by five points after a brillant second half performance. With great displays from Barry Shea, Kieran Mannion,and Emmet Malone and Sean Whyte and Patrick Egan St Gabriels won on a scoreline of st gabriels 3g 8pts to Annaghdowns 1g 9pts. 2011 EASY FIX LEAGUE FINALS REVIEW
The 2011 easyfix league commenced in May with matches played over a seven week period involving six clubs St Gabriels, St Brendans, St Brigids, Monivea/Abbey, Corofin, Mountbellew/Moylough. Over 170 u12‘s playing thirty six (36) matches with hours of game time for each player and this is the real success of the easyfix league.
St Gabriels A team had wins over St Brendans and St Brigids while the B team beat Monivea/Abbey twice. Finals day was held on Saturday 18th june when three finals were played at St Gabriels grounds in Kilconnell with the following results.

On Friday evening the gertie Kelly memorial blitz dedicated to Gertie Kelly, Kilconnell who was an officer in st gabriels club for many years was held in Kilconnell pitch on 18th of june 2011. On a fine sunny evening eight teams Kilkerrin/Clonberne, Ballinasloe, Pearses, Roscommon Loughrea, Caltra, Monivea/Abbey, St Kerrills and St Gabriels had a great evenings football with st gabriels B team winning their three matches on Friday evening and they were presented with their medals that evening. St Gabriels team was Fiachra Garvey, Brian Lohan, Sean McLaverty, Patrick Downey, Cathal Quinn, Daniel Treacy, Cian Treacy, Cathal Redan, Conor Lawless, Ciaran Daly, Kaelan Kenny, Cian Malone, Liam Collins, Gerard Colleran, Josh Dolan, Oisin Finn, Niall Dwyer.
St Gabriels A team defeated Kilkerrin/Clonberne, Ballinasloe and then Caltra after extra time in a very exciting game to reach the final which was played in Kilconnell on Sunday evening in front of a large crowd. St Gabriels played Loughrea in the final with St Gabriels boys having a great game and gave a great display of football and overcame Loughrea with the half time score being 1g 7pts to St Gabriels and 2pts to Loughrea. In the second half Loughrea fought back and the Final Score was St Gabriels 2g 13pts to Loughrea 2g 3pts.
Star performances from the whole panel well done lads on a great evenings work and on your commitment to the game. John Kelly presented the trophy to the Captains Eannai O Rourke and Cian Treacy. Padraig Donnellan our chairman wished cian treacy and his family all the best as they are leaving st gabriels to live abroad, all our best wishes to them for the future. St Gabriels team were M. U16's - ST GABRIELS U16'S Boy have earned themselves a place in the shield final under the leadership of hubert burke and declan malone. They played st kerrills on tuesday 19th of june in menlough and won the game. Full report to follow. U14's - St Gabriels u14’s played kilkerrin/clonberne in the first round of the championship in Kilconnell pitch. St Gabriels started the better team and by half time were 4g 9pts to 1g 3pts at half time giving a great display of good football. In the second half kilkerrin/clonberne fought back and scored some great points but st gabriels won out convincing winners. Well done lads on a great team effort. St Gabriels play the quarter final next friday evening the 22nd of july all details later.
U14's NORTH SHIELD SWEET SUCCESS
St Gabriels had their busiest and entertaining weekend of the year. On Thursday evening st gabriels u14’s played caltra in the U14 north shield final in mountbellew pitch.
They got off to a mighty start with two quick goals and led by 3-03 to 1-05 at half time. St Gabriel's good work continued in the second period and they ran out convincing winners with a score of 4-08 to 1-06. Gabriel's were served very well on the day by Darren Kenny with two goals, Aidan Grenham, Michael O'Rourke and Jason Kenny with a great team performance the order of the day. Amid scenes of jubilation Captain Michael O'Rourke was presented with the plaque and celebrations continued with refreshments for the team in supermacs. A great team performance and Well Done to Mike Malone Manager and P.J Jennings and Noel Kelly their mentors for all their hard work with this team all year. St Gabriels junior A team played dunmore in dunmore on saturday 11th of june. On a beautiful sunny evening in tuam stadium dunmore opened their account first with a point and martin broderick opened St Gabriels account with another great point. Emmet Malone was having a great first half and put two points over then in quick succession and with James Dillon and Tomas Callanan also scoring points to tie up the game with Dunmore had catching up to St Gabriels with some great points the half time score was St Gabriels 5 pts to Dunmores 5 pts. In the second half James Dillon got a great point in the opening minute and we had a patch where we had all the play but just couldn't convert the scores with the match ebbing and flowing between Gabriels and Dunmore. Emmet Malone produced two more points and David Kenny also popped over a great point and we went on and won on a scoreline of St Gabriels 12 points to Dunmores 9 points. Well done to the backs and Goalie who came under great pressure at the end of the match and held on not to let Dunmore score the goal they needed to draw the match. Well done St Gabriels lads on a great team performance right throughout the panel we wish them the best of luck in the next match against mountbellew/moylough in monivea on Sunday 19th at 1p.m. Come out and support your home team.
St Gabriels junior C team played claregalway in claregalway on sunday 12th of june. In very wet conditions claregalway were the better team and won the match.

St Gabriels junior c team played Caherlistrane away in Caherlistrane in championship football on Saturday 28th of may at 5pm. Caherlistrane started the better team and were well ahead when St Gabriels were awarded a penalty which was well taken by pierce dillon which resulted in a goal. St Gabriels played well but could not convert the scores on the scoreboard. The half time score was St Gabriels 1g to Caherlistrane's 2g & 5pts. In the second half St Gabriels played much better and again were awarded a penalty which pierce dillion took and scored a goal. St Gabriels played great football but Caherlistrane finished well and ended on a scoreline of 3g & 7pts to St Gabriels 2g & 2pts.

St Gabriels junior a team played Claregalway in Menlough on Friday 27th of May at 8pm on a very blustery cold evening Claregalway were the better team. St Gabriels played against the breeze in the first half and try as they might they couldn’t convert the scores. With the breeze in the second half St Gabriels gave a good display but couldn’t match Claregalway who won on a scoreline of St Gabriels 5pts to Claregalway's 2g & 12pts. ROY'S MINORS HITTING FORM AT RIGHT TIME
St Gabriels minor team played menlough in menlough pitch on Wednesday 20th of april at 7p.m.in their third league game. With St Gabriels missing some key players due to illness and injury they started with a great goal from Jarlath Mannion and followed that up by a goal and point from Christopher Donnellan and with Gary Lohan and David Glennon scoring two great points before half time this gave us a four point lead at half time. Menlough upped their game just before the half and got some great scores. Half time arrived with the score St Gabriels 2g 3pts to Menlough 1g 2 points. After half time Menlough scored two points and narrowed the gap but St Gabriels gave a great display of football which saw two great goals from Sean Garvey and with the backs and goalie Cormac Dolphin in imperious form and standing firm St Gabriels went on and won on a scoreline of st gabriels 4g 14pts to menlough 1g 5pts. JUNIOR C DRAW COMFORT IN MILLTOWN
St Gabriel's junior C team played Milltown on a lovely sunny Sunday evening 17th of April at 6 p.m. St Gabriel's played Milltown in the first junior C league match. In front of a great crowd Milltown started the better team and were 1g and 7pts to St Gabriel's 5pts. In the second half St Gabriel's upped their game and had most of the play and with great performances from the goalie to the backs and centre of field came back into it with a great goal from Emmet Leonard and Padraig Mchugh St Gabriels were back in the game. With great points from our forward line St Gabriels were three points up but a determined Milltown team went on and scored a last minute goal to make a draw of the match. A very entertaining match. St Gabriels u14 team travelled to monivea on Saturday 16th of April to take part in feile competitions. St Gabriel's played Ballinasloe in their first game. Ballinsloe were a stronger team and St Gabriel's were defeated. St Gabriel's then played Monivea and we had no luck and were defeated by a better team. St Gabriel's then played Athenry and won that match. Monivea went on to win the group and won their group on Sunday in pearse stadium. Well done to them. Declan Malones Under 16 charges played their first league match in kilconnell pitch on Tuesday 12th of april. They played St Kerrils. A good game entailed with some good individual performances which culminated in a St Gabriels victory who were the better team and they won on a scoreline of st gabriels 2g 8pts to st kerrils 10pts.
MINORS RUN BRENDANS CLOSE !
St Gabriels minor team played St Brendans in Kilconnell pitch on Wednesday 6th of April at 7pm. St Gabriels started the stronger team with Christopher Donnellan scoring a goal and a point and Jarlath Mannion getting a great goal and David Glennon popping over a lovely point. St Brendan's got into the action and at half time st Gabriel's were trailing by a single point. Half time score St Gabriel's 2g & 3pts to St Brendan's 2g & 4pts. In the second half St Brendan's started well with some great points and were leading by 5 points when St Gabriel's were awarded a penalty when Christopher Donnellan was brought down. Liam Maguire stepped up and with a well taken penalty we were only 2pts down but try as they might St Gabriel's couldn't match st Brendan's performance and they won on a scoreline of St Brendan's 3g & 9pts to St Gabriel's 4g & 4pts.
