ST GABRIELS MATCH SUMMARIES

St Gabriels ladies football club u14's 
St Gabriels u14's travelled to Glinsk on saturday the 3rd of july. Some of our stronger u14's were not available so we brought a back up of u12's who rallied to the cause and we had a great game of footall. We were the stronger team and had a great win.  Well done to all u14s and u12s that is the third win in a row for u14's. 

St Gabriels ladies club U10's 
St Gabriels ladies had a busy evening on Wednesday 30th of june in aughrim as the u10's and u14 girls travelled from Craughwell to play our girls.  At 7 p.m the u10s took to the field . On a wet evening it took both teams a while to get going but St Gabriels ladies were the stronger team and won well.  Girls that is your third win in a row.  Keep up the good work.  Thanks to Craughwell girls for coming down as they had a lot of girls absent with illness etc and have only started their club in the past two months. Well done to all who took part. Best of luck to the u10 cappatagle team who play their final in Loughrea this saturday against Sarfields. 

St Gabriels ladies club U14'S 
St Gabriels girls played Craughwell after the u10 match in aughrim pitch on Wednesday 30th of june. St Gabriels girls were the better team and played very well. Craughwell fought back in the second half but with Michelle Geraghty on song with a hat trick they couldn't make a comeback.   Well done girls  keep up the good work. 
 

U10'S STILL ON A ROLL !!!!

ST GABRIELS U10 GIRLS had another great win in the second of their corofin league matches . In lovely sunshine on saturday 26th of june st gabriels played caltra in kilconnell pitch. In front of a big crowd of parents st gabriels started the better team and had 3 goals scored in the first 5 minutes.  Caltra reorganized and a great game ensued,  at half time st gabriels were 3goals to caltra 3 points.  After the first half caltra put the pressure on and fought back but st gabriels held on for a great victory. final score st gabriels 6g 1pt to Caltra 1g 6pts.  well done girls and keep up the good work

U10'S FIRST LEAGUE GAMES ENDS ON A POSITIVE NOTE 

St Gabriels u10 girls played their first league match in aughrim pitch against mountbellew/moylough on wednesday 16th of june. St Gabriels started very well with a great goal from Aisling Donnellan but Mountbellew then scored three goals and looked the stronger looking team in the first half and the half time score was st gabriels 1g 3pts to mountbellew/moylough 3g 1pt.  In the second half St Gabriels introduced their supersub who was away on a school tour in dublin and who arrived late ellen mcloughlin.  Ellen then scored a great goal and with another goal from avril lohan and niamh kenny we were well in touch and fought a great second half and won by 1pt, a terrific achievement.  Well done to our goalie and backs on doing a great job also. Well done girls on winning our first match in the league. Final Score st gabriels 4g 5pts to mountbellew/moylough 5g 1pt.

GOOD HOME WIN FOR UNDER 12'S

St gabriels u12 girls played mountbellew/moylough in Aughrim pitch on Wednesday 9th of June. St Gabriels started the better team and with a great goal from Lucy McCormack and lovely points from Megan Monaghan and Hillary Bleahene St Gabriels had a great start to the match. At half time the score was St Gabriels 4g 7pts to 2g 1pt. Mountbellew/Moylough fought back in the second half and scored some great goals to try to get back into the game but St Gabriels girls kept going and won on a scoreline of St Gabriels 4g 10pts to Mountbellew/Moylough 4g 5pts.Well Done to all on a terrific win and some great scores.

 
SAINT GABRIELS UNDER 12'S POWER PAST ST BRENDANS 
St Gabriels ladies u12 team met st brendans of ballygar in aughrim pitch for their league match on wednesday 12th of may. This was a tough game of football with both teams pushing each other all th way. Saint Gabriels were the better team on the day but St Brendans fought hard and came back into it before the first half was over scoring three points on the run. St Gabriels girls worked well throughout the match as a team from goalie to full forward and at half time the score was St Gabriels 2g 1pt to 3pts to St Brendans. The second half was a keenly contested affair but the home side just had too much guile for the visitors and took the game with a full time score st gabriels 4g 3pts to st brendans 6pts. Well done girls. 

GABRIELS LADIES TOO STRONG FOR BALLINASLOE 

St Gabriels u12 team played Ballinasloe in Ballinasloe on wednesday 28th of april. They had a great start to the game when st gabriels scored a goal and 1pt  by Megan Monaghan.  Ballinasloe then came back into it and scored two points to bring themselves back into it. After half time st gabriels had a stiff breeze against them and the backs and goalie did great work and were unlucky to concede a goal to Ballinasloe. St Gabriels Lucy McLoughlin and Niamh Daly did fantastic work in the middle of the field and after another great goal by st gabriels they piled the pressure onto Ballinasloe. With some great running from the forwards st gabriels went on to win on a scoreline of st gabriels 2g 3pts to 1g 3pts. well done girls on a great days work. In addition to this victory st gabriels u12 team played caltra/cuans in aughrim last week and after a great game of competitive football caltra/cuans won the match by 3 points.
