WELCOME TO SAINT GABRIELS LADIESLadies Football started in St.Gabriels in 1997 on the 20th April. As a result of notices in newsletters and by word of mouth 25 girls gathered at Kilconnell playing field for a training session. The following Sunday 31 girls turned up and a junior team was affiliated. Sile Coen agreed to train the team and the first game took place on Sunday 11th May in Kilconnell against Carna. Although losing 3-5 to 2-0 everyone was happy with the performance - the first goal scored by Elaine Kelly of Woodlawn caused great excitement. The club played 10 league games in 1997 winning two and drawing one. The following year the junior team went on to contest their first league final and despite being beaten by Glinsk this represented a great achievement. LATEST SAINT GABRIELS LADIES NEWS

23/06/10 ST FURSEYS TOO STRONG
ST GABRIELS LADIES FOOTBALLERS u12s travelled to headford on friday 18th of june to play St Furseys of headford in a quarter final. St Furseys were the stronger team from the start. We battled on but were not in the same league as St Furseys and they won well. No harm done. It was great to reach the quarter final, take a bow girls, we had a good sing song on the bus on the way home . The u12 championship will be in july so we will continue training till then.
17/06/10 U12's IN SHIELD SEMI FINAL V HEADFORD The Ladies Under 12's will be in action in the shield semi final in headford against headford on friday 18th of july at 7 p.m. The bus will be leaving aughrim pitch at 5pm and kilconnell hall at 5.10pm.  The following training schedules are listed for age groups below U10's will be training in Aughrim pitch on Saturday 12th of June at 5 p.m. The Corofin Tournament starts next week, full details to appear later. U12's will also be training in Aughrim Pitch on Saturday 12th of June at 5 p.m. And the U12's will be involved in the league semi-final next week. Well done girls on this achievement. U14's will also be training in Aughrim Pitch on Saturday 12th of June at 5 p.m. All players are requested to attend as there is an upcoming U14 match against Spiddal next Monday evening, details available at training. St Gabriels ladies g.a.a. Club would like to congratulate Catriona Cormican on receiving the person of the match award in the national league final. We would also like to say well done to St Gabriels U12 girls as they beat Ballinasloe last week in their league match with the score ending St Gabriels 2g 3pts to Ballinasloe 1G 3pts.

St Gabriels u12 girls are playing their first league match on friday 23/4/10 at 6.30 p.m. in Aughrim pitch against St Cuans/Caltra team. ALL players to be at the pitch at 6 p.m.
16/04/10 LADIES MATCH SUNDAY  Junior ladies will be entertaining Caherlistrane in Aughrim this coming sunday 18th april with a 12.30pm throw in. Preceding this will be training again in Aughrim on friday @7pm. All players need to attend.

St Gabriels ladies are holding a fund raising car wash at Lyons garage in Kilconnell this coming saturday 27th march from 10am to 5pm. Price is a very reasonable €8. So come along with your car, tractor or bicycle! and get us to help you help us!!! 21/03/10 TABLE QUIZ A GREAT NIGHT  We would like to thank everyone who attended our special quiz night fundraiser for St Gabriels Ladies club. The night was held in Valery Seales pub (aughrim) which was a tremendous success. A special word of thanks to our Quiz Master Extraordinaire Gearoid Mitchell, a truly worthy Compere for the night.

 St Gabriels ladies a.g.m was held on Friday 19/02/10 in St Gabriels g.a.a. Clubhouse in Kilconnell. The officers elected were President: Sean O' Brien, Chairman: Gerry Mannion, Secretary; Fiona Mitchell, Treasurer: Maureen Mannion, Registrar: Kitty Cormican, Child welfare officer: Mrs D. Dolphin, Delegate to County Board: Tim Broderick, P.R.O: Brid Donnellan, Managers: Junior: Sonny Treacy, U14 and U12 manager: John Daly, U10 Manager Gerry Mannion. A finance committee was set up and they are Betty Mitchell, Larry Lohan, Kitty Cormican and John Daly. Insurance and registration is now also due.
