Catriona Cormican is one of the most promising players of modern times distinguishing herself in both camogie & football. catriona played U12 & U14 for St Gabriels boys club and featured on the u16 Ladies C league final in 2003. She played wing forward on the County U14 team who were defeated in the 2002 All-ireland final and later played wing back on the first ever Galway U16 team to win the All-Ireland final in 2003. This match, versus Cavan, was played in Longford town. At schools level Catriona received the Player of the Match award while representing Ardscoil Mhuire in the Connacht final in 2002 - the Ballinasloe school winning this match.
In 2005 Catriona had the distinction of being a member of the Galway Senior Football panel that reached the All-Ireland Senior Final.
Catriona playes her camogie with Cappataggle and has won U12, U14 & Intermediate County medals with them. Catriona is one of twenty All-Stars selected to represent Connacht colleges in a blitz played in Dublin to celebrate centenary year.
Catriona is at present a member of the Galway Ladies Senior Football squad and has been very effective at wing back in recent games. |
