 A terrific win by a point ! and an enthralling match in Aughrim last night as Mike Malones & Bosco Riddell's charges warmed up nicely for this weekends action at St Gabriels pitch in Kilconnell. After completing their matches and finishing in the A final they go into their final game with renewed confidence and after last nights final round of matches with teams jockeying for position in their respective finals the draw for the weekend is as follows -

B Final - Ballinasloe v St Bridgets
Shield Final- Corofin v Monivea

 Mike Malone's U12's had a fantastic one point win against St Bridgets in their final league game of the Easyfix League. All their attention will now focus on thursday's semi final versus Monivea, the draw is as follows -
A Semi finals - Mountbellew/Moylough v Corofin & St Gabriels v Monivea
B Semi finals - St Bridgets v St Brendans & Ballinasloe v Tuam (already played - Ballinasloe won)
St Gabriels will play their semi final at 7.30pm on thursday evening 2nd July in Aughrim. All players requested to arrive by 7pm.
When these games are completed focus will turn to Kilconnell on saturday 4th July for the Easy Fix Finals & the annual Gertie Kelly Cup with the following schedules

 Robbie Keanes U16 panel had a fantastic albeit tense win against Killanin in Monivea yesterday afternoon, after an impressive St Gabriels first half performance a wirey Killanin team were quickest out of the traps second half with a goal almost immediately from the restart and this led to a very evenly contested match with the men from the east in the end coming through victorious.....just ! Match report to follow....... The Juniors were not so fortunate in Tuam yesterday and were beaten by St Grellans of Ballinasloe in a match were the TUAM STADIUM curse of the scoring goal came into play second half.....match report to follow also

JUNIOR A-Go to Tuam in the Championship against Ballinasloe tomorrow (sunday). Good Luck to them and lets hope they have a good away day.
 U16-A really good tough workout in Killererin for Robbie Keanes U16 squad last night (friday). The panel showed what a strong passing team they are maturing into with nice performances throughout the line up let us hope this will hold them in good stead for their upcoming semi final v Killanin in Monivea tomorrow.
U12- Championships will begin on 16th August for 1st & 2nd teams this will run every sunday for six (6) sundays thereafter. This will be in a league format giving all teams an excellent opportunity to get some serious competitive game time in !!!

 Get ready for a new concept in Gaelic Games the key objectives of Go Games can be summarised as follows: To promote full participation & provide playing opportunities for all children at their respective levels of participation by ensuring everyone gets to play in the game and that nobody remains a substitute. “Playing, not winning, is the name of the game.” Fair play & sportsmanship are uppermost in GO GAMES. The U8's & U10's will participate in Kilconnell on saturday morning (16th May). Proceedings begin @ 10.00am. All players requested to bring lunch and a special mention to Mike Smyth's U10 panel to bring their birth certificates for Community Games registration.
14/05/09 U16's PUT THROUGH THEIR PACES
 ROBBIE KEANE'S panel were "treated" to a training session with a bit of a difference on tuesday evening by ASSP coach and ex League of Ireland & Barbados International player Eric Lavine. The former Galway United professional conducted a rigorous one hour fitness session under the watchful eyes of the St Gabriels management team. Drawing from his 3 years experience in the Barbados Defence Force the coach showed the group how to use kangaroo jumps as part of training to increase jumping ability and circuit training to increase stamina on the pitch. Many thanks to Mr Lavine on an enjoyable & worthwhile session.
12/05/09 GREAT CELEBRATIONS IN KILCONNELL
 Saint Gabriels held a fun day for all children in the local national schools on Sunday 10/5/09 to celebrate 125 years of the g.a.a. In lovely sunshine a great crowd gathered and all the children took part in blitz matches. Maura Mclaverty's group provided music to start the proceedings. Bouncing castles were a great attraction for the smaller children. Skills competitions were held after the blitz matches. Refreshments were provided and a great day was had by all. SPECIAL NOTE- There a number of St Gabriels embroidered Polo Shirts available for a bargain €10 each. All sizes available from club officers.

31/03/09 U14's RECENT PROGRESS
 St Gabriels u14's played St Kerills on Friday evening in Kilconnell pitch in a challenge match. St Gabriels had a great start and had the wind at their backs, the half time score was 3g & 3pts to gabriels and 2g & 2pts to St Kerrils, but St Kerills with the wind came back and won well. Great match despite the windy weather.
St Gabriels u14's travelled to Ballyforan on Sunday 29th of march to play a challenge match against Ballyforan. Ballyforan were the stronger team in the first half and were leading at half time but St Gabriels fought back and had a great second half. Ballyforan won a great match and u14s enjoyed the trip immensely.

 Saint Gabriels Juniors took on Athenry on Sunday 1st March in a challenge match as preparations for the coming season ahead and were edged out by 3 points with the score St Gabriels 1-5 to Athenry 1-8. The game was played in ideal weather conditions that suited a free flowing game. Match report to follow.
28/02/09 MINORS MATCH CANCELLED
The proposed minors challenge game v Ballinasloe has unfortunately had to be postponed as the opposition were unable to field a team. A full training session will now be scheduled for today (saturday 28th feb) at 12pm instead all players asked to attend.

23/02/09 U16 CHALLENGE MATCH IN KILCONNELL
 Robbie Keane's U16's Squad will face Pearse's of Roscommon in Kilconnell on Tuesday evening on 24th February at 7pm. All supporters are asked to go along for a great competitive game of football.

19/02/09 WORK GETS UNDERWAY IN KILCONNELL 
The diggers have been busy over the last few weeks on the new sports complex for St Gabriels that is currently being undertaken at their Kilconnell pitch, we will hope to bring these progress foto's over the coming weeks and any future developments on the Aughrim pitch this year also.!

Jimmy Connelly's U21's went to Clonberne on tuesday night for the start of the u21 Championship but unfortunately lost out to Kilkerrin/Clonberne on the pitch with a score line of st gabriels 2g 8pts to kilkerrin/clonberne 16 pts.

01/02/09 MULTITEXT GETTING THERE !
 The Multitext service that St Gabriels will be using this season for all our training, matches and social events has gotten underway with a vengeance! With the club still very much in the close season the number of texts sent via this service was 1200+ in January alone. As we get to the season's start and new players register expect this number to increase. NOTE TO PLAYERS Please send any responses to your own managers numbers as we are too busy sending texts out to reply !!!! Many Thanx Neil

25/01/09 LATEST CLUBHOUSE PLANS UNVEILED
The very latest mock up plans for the brand new proposed St Gabriels GAA Clubhouse/Leisure complex have now been unveiled. The proposed plans show an indoor multi sports hall, dressing rooms, leisure facilities & recreation area's.
The building is spread out onto two seperate floors and it will provide when complete a state of the art facility for its members.
